Section 44: Repeal, amendment and savings

What Section 44 says, in plain English

Section 43A of the IT Act (which previously governed sensitive personal data) is omitted. IT Act amendments to align with DPDP. Savings for actions already taken.

What it means for you

The old SPDI Rules 2011 lose their standalone footing. Rewrite policies that cited 'Reasonable Security Practices under Section 43A' to cite DPDP Section 8 and Rule 6.
