Live badge, live proof

A DPDP readiness badge you actually earn.

Show your customers you take data protection seriously, and show it with a live badge that reflects your real dcomply readiness score, refreshed daily. Not a static PDF. Not a paid seal. Not a self-attestation. If your score falls, the badge changes. If it rises, the badge upgrades on its own.

Live SVG badge. Refreshed daily. Click-through lands on a public verification page.
The three tiers

You earn one of three badges based on your live score.

R

Ready

Score 55 - 69

You have taken the essential steps. Notice is compliant, consent is captured, a grievance officer is named. You are not audit-ready yet, but you are not exposed either.

V

Verified

Score 70 - 84

Your programme is functional. Retention rules are documented. Cross-border transfers are logged. DSRs are handled. A DPB inquiry would find a defensible paper trail.

C

Certified

Score 85 - 100

Board-approved policy, appointed DPO or grievance officer, DPIA on high-risk activities, breach playbook rehearsed. This is what regulators want to see. This is what you show your customers.

Below 55, no badge. Instead, you see a prioritised fix-list and a re-check button. We would rather have no badge than a misleading one.

How it works

The badge is a live SVG, not a static image.

  1. You activate the Trust Badge module inside dcomply. Takes a minute.
  2. We generate a unique token for your tenant. That token is what the badge URL uses.
  3. You paste a two-line embed on your site. Same idea as a Stripe or Google reCAPTCHA snippet.
  4. The badge SVG is generated fresh every time a visitor's browser loads it, from your current score.
  5. Clicking the badge lands the visitor on dcomply.in/trust/{your-token}, a public verification page showing the score, tier, last-refresh timestamp, and the list of checks you passed.

Why this is different

Most trust seals cannot be trusted.

Static image seals go stale the day they are issued

You paid a firm ₹40,000, got a JPEG with your name on it, and stuck it on your footer. Two months later your DPO left, your consent flow changed, and the seal is still there. That is not compliance, that is decoration.

Paid seals correlate with payment, not readiness

If the auditor's revenue depends on you passing, the audit's job is to help you pass. That is a real conflict. Our badge is not a paid product on top of the software. It comes with the module. If your score drops, the badge changes on its own.

Ours refreshes every day, tied to your live tenant

The badge SVG is drawn from your current dcomply score. Add a data domain, close a DPIA action, upload a signed processor DPA, and the badge reflects the improvement inside 24 hours. Skip a quarterly review and the tier drops.

The verification page is public

Any visitor, journalist or regulator can click the badge and see the score, tier and list of checks. There is no dashboard hidden behind a login. If you claim to be Certified, the world can verify it in one click.

What the badge does not say

The badge is a readiness signal from a software platform. It is not a legal opinion, not an endorsement from the Data Protection Board of India, and not a guarantee that you will not be investigated. If a breach happens, the Board will look at your actual practices, not at any seal.

What the badge does say is that on the date it was last refreshed, your dcomply tenant met the checks corresponding to that tier. That is a useful signal to customers, partners and prospective employees. It is not the whole story of compliance and we do not pretend it is.

Included with

Any active dcomply subscription. There is no separate charge for the badge. Free tenants can display the "Ready" badge if the score qualifies.
